Ex governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and Shehu Sani, ex Kaduna house of Representative member, have criticize the ongoing increment in petroleum cost to N151.56 per liter.
Daily Times had before revealed that the (PPMC), an auxiliary of the Nigerian petroleum Oil Company, NNPC on Wednesday declared the augmentation.
The new increased price is required to kick off from September 2, 2020.
Responding to the declaration of the increase in the cost of Premium motor spirit (PMS), Fayose took to his twitter handle to criticize the turn of events.
He said that it isn’t ideal for government to help increment in the cost of PMS when different nations are embracing measures to bring relief to the monetary troubles caused by the Covid pandemic.
“Petroleum is presently N151.56. The increment was made when different nations are embracing measures to lessen the impacts of Coronavirus lockdown on their residents.
“Just in case that the individuals who criticize across Nigeria during the PDP govt of Jonathan don’t know. I cautioned” Fayose said in a tweet.
Likewise responding, Sani said the situation of things here and there in the nation should be enough to discourage the government from increasing the fuel price.
