The Oba of Benin, His Regal majesty (HRM), Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, minced no words when he played host to Edo State governor Godwin Obaseki and his Delegate Phillip Shaibu in his royal residence on Wednesday, September 2, 2020.
Obaseki changed from the APC to the PDP in June so as to pursue his re-appointment aspiration.
He is facing Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the APC in the September 19, 2020 vote.
The development to the political race has been ordinarily fierce, with hooligans inciting violence at each chance.
During a harmony meeting, with the two camps in participation, Oba Ewuare II communicated his surprise concerning the political strain and rising in Edo and seemed to propose that Obaseki and Shaibu are the heroes, all things considered,
“I’m disturbed about this. At the point when you didn’t let me settle the issue among you and your friends, before it got to this point. In the event that we had done it that time, we won’t be staying here at this point. Everything would have been smoother than this,” the Oba stated, referring to the quarrel among Obaseki and his friend Adams Oshiomhole which prompted Obaseki’s surrender to the PDP.
Oba Ewuare II included that “It will be acceptable to look past your office since you’re not going to be there forever. You see the senior legislator there, Boss John Odigie-Oyegun? He was before a lead representative as well.
“He’s not there now. Along these lines, everyone realizes that it is temporary. Just think at how one day when you are not, at this point the everybody can sit and still give you regard. More regard even.”
