Kidnapper unknowingly boards car belonging to a man he kidnapped in the past and gets caught.

There is a popular saying that “the evil that men do lives with them, what goes around comes around. “

There was mild drama at a motor park located in Dange-shuni local government of sokoto state, as a driver reportedly identified the kidnapper who kidnapped him two months ago.

The suspect unknowingly boarded the car belonging to one of his kidnapped victims, with the hopes of traveling to kano. But the driver of the car that he boarded turned out to be the person that he and his crew kidnapped on the busy sokoto-kano highway two months ago.

The kidnapper who unsuspectingly entered the car did  not know that the driver was one of those he kidnapped in time past. The driver quickly recognized him, as the incident is still fresh in his memory.

The driver was smart enough not to raise any immediate alarm, instead, he quietly got down from the car and pretended as if he wanted to ease himself. As soon as he was out of sight of the kidnapper, he informed members of the local driver’s union who called the police.

The suspect was arrested by the police. He confessed to being a member of a kidnap syndicate which specializes in terrorizing passengers of the sokoto-kano road.

He had kidnapped the driver two months back, and his crew only released the driver after a ransom money was paid. He had no idea that the car he boarded belonged to someone he kidnapped in the past. He pleaded for mercy.

Photo above shows the suspect sitting in the front sit.

A Singaporean woman who was pregnant when she was infected with coronavirus in March has reportedly given birth to a baby with antibodies against the disease, offering a new clue as to whether the infection can be transferred from mother to child.

The baby, who was was born this month, does not have COVID-19 but has the virus antibodies, the Straits Times newspaper reported on Sunday, citing the mother.

“My doctor suspects I have transferred my COVID-19 antibodies to him during my pregnancy,” Celine Ng-Chan told the paper.

Ng-Chan had been mildly ill from the disease and was discharged from hospital after two and a half weeks, it said.

Ng-Chan and the National University Hospital, where she gave birth, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Rare transmission
The World Health Organization says it is not yet known whether a pregnant woman with COVID-19 can pass the virus to her fetus or baby during pregnancy or delivery.

Up till now, the active virus has not been found in samples of fluid around babies in the womb or in breast milk.

Doctors in China have reported the detection and decline over time of COVID-19 antibodies in babies born to women with coronavirus, according to an article published in October in the journal Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Transmission of the coronavirus from mothers to newborns is rare, doctors from New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center reported in October in JAMA Pediatrics.

While Singapore has recorded just slightly more than 58,000 COVID infections, there are over 62.2 million infections around the world today, with at least 1.45 million reported deaths, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University in the United States.

Drama as man wakes up in mortuary in pain when morgue worker cut open his leg while preparing to embalm him after he was declared dead?

A man in Kenya who was allegedly declared dead by doctors came back to life three hours later while workers at a morgue were preparing to embalm him.

32-year-old Peter Kigen was presumed dead on Tuesday, November 24, after he collapsed at home and was rushed to Kapkatet hospital in Kericho county, according to local media.

After being transferred to the morgue, Mr. Kigen shocked the staff as he suddenly woke up and wailed in pain as they made an incision on his right leg.

Kigen, a resident of Kibwastuiyo village in Bureti Constituency, who reportedly suffers from a chronic illness, is said to have collapsed while at home before his family took him to hospital

His younger brother told Standard newspaper that a nurse had told him the patient had died before they arrived at the casualty department.

“When I went back to the casualty department at around 7.45 pm, I learnt my brother was dead. A nurse told me that he died long before we arrived at the hospital,” Kipkurui said.

He added: “The nurse later handed me a document to take to the mortuary attendant before my brother’s body was moved to the morgue.”

While at the morgue, one of the workers was said to have made an incision on the man’s right leg to infuse formalin as part of the process of preserving the body.

It was then Mr. Kigen suddenly regained consciousness and reportedly began to wail in pain, leaving the staff shocked with some running for their safety as they thought the dead man had ‘resurrected.’

A woman who is transforming herself from a human being to living cartoon character has had SIX RIBS removed in 2017.

Pixee Fox had the procedure to give her a 14inch waist, part of her plan to restructure her own body to look like Jessica Rabbit.

Pixee Fox has spent £80,000 on 17 surgeries, including the £6,000 rib removal, four boob jobs, a Brazilian butt lift and labioplasty.

She now boasts an unbelievable 16in waist and 30J bust – and says it has always been her dream to look like her cartoon heroine.

She received her first operation in 2010 when she got her eyelids, nose and breasts done.

Pixee appeared on TV to defend her obsession with surgery, claiming she used to be against it until she developed a ‘passion’ and resolved to become a pioneer in the field.

As you can imagine, there is some pain associated with the procedure, but it didn’t phase Fox. She was back in her corset two days later, measuring her waist at 16 inches.

President Donald Trump gave defiant Thanksgiving remarks at the White House Thursday, insisting falsely that he beat Joe Biden and wavering on whether he would ever concede or attend Biden’s inauguration.

It was the first time Trump responded to questions from reporters since the election.

He said if the electoral college confirms Biden’s victory, “they’ve made a mistake,” but that he would give up power and leave the White House.

“Certainly I will, and you know that,” Trump said in remarks after speaking via videoconference to U.S. troops to mark the Thanksgiving holiday.

Trump twice declined to say he would formally concede though, adding that would be a very hard thing to do. He also continued to complain about what he called a fraud in the tabulation of votes from the Nov. 3 election.

There is no evidence of a widespread fraud, and numerous states have certified the results.

The Electoral College electors in each state are to vote Dec. 14. Certificates recording the electoral vote results in each state must be received by the president of the Senate no later than Dec. 23.

You will Recall that 17-year-old Chisom became an online sensation after making straights 7 A’s in the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination and clinched the spot of best graduating student in her school, Graceland College Enugu.

However, sadly, the internet was thrown to mourning, her father, Professor Felix Chukwuneke took to Facebook where he revealed that Chisom has lost passed on following an undisclosed sickness which started off as a leg pain but intensified.

Unfortunately, Chisom succumbed to the illness which she battled for a while even after being flown to South Africa for treatment, reports gathered showed.

According to ChannelsTV, Chisom was said to have died after a battle with blood cancer. Also known as leukaemia, blood cancer is a disease that sees the bone marrow and other blood-forming organs produce more immature or abnormal leukocytes. This subdues the production of normal blood cells.

Yuri Tolochko, from Kazakhstan, popped the question to Margo in December 2019. The wedding was earlier delayed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and an attack on Yuri

A bodybuilder has finally married his sex doll after delaying the ceremony for months.

Yuri Tolochko, from Kazakhstan, has been living with Margo for a year and a half and says he popped the question back in December 2019.

He first met her at a night club, and the pair were due to get married in March this year before the coronavirus pandemic threw the world into turmoil.

Yuri earlier told the Daily Star that the ceremony was delayed a second time after he was attacked during a transgender rally in the Kazakh city of Almaty on October 31.

However, the pair have finally tied the knot at a ceremony attended by dozens of guests. Sharing footage of the celebration on Instagram, Yuri wrote: “It’s happened. To be continued.”

In the video, Yuri slips a ring onto Margo’s finger before the pair share a tender kiss. They then take the first dance in front of a delighted crowd.

The bodybuilder identifies as a pansexual, and can fall in love with “a character, an image, a soul, just a person”.

He explained: “I like the process of sex itself. And gender, sexual orientation are not particularly important here.”

Discussing his sex life with Margo, Yuri added: “Our story turns me on much more than sex itself. I also love BDSM.

“I love being tortured, I can endure a lot of pain. I love to dominate too. Margo is capable of what other people are not capable of.”

According to earlier local media reports, his union with Margo should stand. The only requirements for a wedding to take place in Kazakhstan are that both consenting parties have to be male and female and over 18 years old.

Due to apparent fears about her appearance, Yuri decided to book Margo in for plastic surgery earlier this year.

He explained: “When I presented her photo to the world, there was a lot of criticism and she began to develop a complex so we decided to have plastic surgery.

“She has changed a lot. At first, it was hard to accept but I got used to it later on. “It was at a real clinic with real doctors.”

The Central Bank Governor , Godwin Emefiele, has said the Coalition Alliance Against COVID- 19 will rebuild all the police stations that were destroyed in the country as a result of wanton destruction and lootings that followed the recent #EndSARS protests .
Emefiele spoke during a press briefing in Lagos on Wednesday at the office of the CBN.
He also disclosed that CACOVID had so far spent N43 .27bn on the acquisition of medical equipment and supplies, and food palliatives for the vulnerable, among others.

The CBN governor said the alliance planned to spend N 150bn on youth empowerment.
He said , “ CACOVID has committed to fully rebuild all 44 damaged and destroyed police stations nationwide in a bid to restore provision of security in affected locations .

“ To further strengthen the security apparatus in the country , CACOVID has committed to provide over N100 bn to procure equipment and gadgets for the Nigerian Police Force over the next two years; as our contribution to fully modernise the Nigerian Police .”
He said its preliminary analysis indicated that unemployment , particularly among the youth, was a critical factor behind the unrest.

As a result , he said , CACOVID had committed to create a high impact youth development programme that would provide technical and vocational education to over four million Nigerian youths over the next five years.
“ Over N150 bn is expected to be deployed towards the set up and implementation of the youth development programme , which will be available at select training centers across the country ,” he said .

Emefiele said selected students on conclusion of the programme would be certified by the appropriate standards board and would be eligible to receive loans to support their entrepreneurial pursuits .

So far , he said , over N25 bn would be domiciled in a fund to support these entrepreneurial pursuits , which would also include acquisition of related equipment to conduct business activities.

According to him , these efforts represent some of the essential steps that were important in rebuilding trust and preventing future unrest within the communities.

Looters Return Stolen Palliatives; Ask For Forgiveness From Plateau State Govt (Photos)

Some people who participated in looting of items during the recent vandalisation of warehouses and other public and private properties under the guise of looking for palliatives have returned the items in their possession, asking for forgiveness from the Plateau State Government.

It was reported cthat the repentant persons were led to the new Government House in Rayfield Jos by popular evangelist of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, who explained that they made the confession during a prayer revival orgainsed at the Zang Secondary School Bukuru, Jos South Local Government.

The clergyman said over two thousand people came forward after the hearing the gospel where he preached against the recent looting and vandalism which affected public and private properties in the State.

This action, according to him is not just an invitation of the anger of God against the suspects but the entire State. He said the hijack of the ENDSARS protest is a plan of the devil to scuttle the will of God for Plateau State which cannot be left without intercession.

Touched by the message, some of the persons involved in the looting repented and decided to bring some of the items still in their possessions as a mark of restitution and plea for mercy from God and the Government of Plateau State.

Rev. Dachomo appealed to the Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong to temper justice with mercy by granting forgiveness to the repentant persons who voluntarily came forward at the revival meeting with a promise never to partake in such acts again.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Governor, Secretary to the Government of the State, Prof. Danladi Abok Atu commended Rev. Dachomo for appealing to the consciences of the affected persons who came forward to ask for forgiveness.

He said the action of the looters was a great disservice to the State as not only food items were looted, but heavy machinery, public infrastructure and businesses worth billions of naira were stolen and also destroyed.

Prof. Atu advised the youths of Plateau State to be wary of listening to incitement by people who are not even from Plateau State, but come into the State purposely to orchestrate the destruction after which they disappear to their places of origin just like during the ENDSARS protest.

He promised to forward the plea of the repentant persons to the Governor for further consideration.

The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, has observed that crude oil and other natural resources are valued more than the lives and potentials of Nigerian youths.

Dr Onu made this divulgence on Tuesday at the book launch of the former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran, titled: “Africa’s Security Challenges In The 21st Century; Power, Principles and Praxis in Global Politics”.

According to the Minister: ‘Nigeria is endowed with very intelligent youths. They are a national asset rather than a curse and this asset needs to be converted for the economic benefits of the country.

‘Unfortunately, today, natural resources such as crude oil and minerals, are more appreciated and valued than our youths. These resources do not add up to the value which the youths can bring. Our youths have tremendous potentials that need to be encouraged.’

Dr Onu added that science, technology and innovation have the capacity to educate and provide youths with the skills they need to bring out their potentials, while describing the author, Prof. Adeniran, as ‘a star that guides people to shine.’

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, lamented over the increasing number of insecurity cases in the country, describing the situation as ‘a tragic story to tell and a nightmare.’

Also speaking at the event, the former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Olusegun Adebayo, acknowledged insecurity as a threat to governance, while he appeals to the government to handle it more seriously.

‘Insecurity is a disaster to any government, including Nigeria, but if we commit more time and strategies to it, we will bring it to submission.’

However, the book reviewer, Professor Jideofor Adibe, a publisher of professional journals, noted that the book deserves to have a place in every library.

He said: ‘I see it as a reference source and not just a book. Another point is that it is a very detailed examination of the sources and drivers of security concerns in Africa with contextual and historical discussions on each driver,’ adding that ‘the book approaches history from a strictly African perspective.’

In his closing remarks, the President of the Nigerian Folklore Society (NFS), Dr Bukar Usman, spoke passionately about the unity of Nigeria, insisting that the government and all citizens must do all they can to endure that the country does not break up.

EndSARS Protest: The least we can do is to make sure that those who have murdered Nigerians are unable to benefit from trade or travel to the UK – Lyn Brown (video)

Member of UK parliament, Lyn Brown has called for sanctions against those involved in the shooting incident during the EndSARS protest in Lekki on October 20.

Speaking during a debate in the house on Monday November 23, Lyn stated that the least they can do is to make sure that those who have “murdered” Nigerians and deprived them of their human rights are not able to benefit from trade or travel to the UK.

She also said that these include government officials and the Nigerian army who are stopping a “transparent investigation and effecting of justice.” The lawmaker also added that it was unfortunate that the Federal Government went ahead to not only accuse protesters of sponsoring terrorism and freeze their accounts, but also blamed them for the increase in food prices.

Family demands N500m from Gbajabiamila over vendor’s death

The family of Ifeanyichukwu Okereke, a vendor who died after being shot by a security aide to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has written a letter to the Speaker, demanding N500m.

This is according to a letter dated November 23, 2020, signed by the lawyer of the family, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

Ozekhome was given the mandate to write the letter by the father of the deceased, Okorie Okereke; and the younger brother to the deceased, Destiny Okereke.

The Department of State Services had last week arrested the operative, Abdullahi Hassan, who shot Okereke while Gbajabiamila had also visited the family of the deceased and promised to ensure that they do not suffer.

However, the family demanded more, adding that nothing could bring back the dead vendor back to life.

“That you adequately compensate the Okereke family with a modest sum of N500m only. This monetary demand can never adequately replace or take the place of their son, husband, brother and breadwinner’s life. But it will at least mitigate the obvious trauma and hardship the premature demise of their irreplaceable breadwinner has placed on them,” the family said.

The family also asked the Speaker to ensure that the safety of vendors is guaranteed as they had become afraid to return to the streets since the tragic incident.

The Okereke family said it would take legal action against Gbajabiamila if all the demands are not met within seven days.

“Take note therefore that it is our clients’ firm instruction that in the event that you fail, refuse and/or neglect to accede to or proffer reasonable compensatory terms to our above modest demands within seven days from the date of this letter, we shall without any further correspondences from us, take appropriate legal steps to enforce our clients’ constitutional rights,” the letter stated.

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, says Nigerians should be proud that the Federal Government is set to resume the importation of petroleum products from neighbouring Niger Republic.

Sylva said contrary to comments by critics of the government, the plan by the Federal Government to resume fuel importation from its West African brother should not be seen as ‘an embarrassment’ but rather as a means of encouraging intra-regional trade.

It was reported that the Ministry of Petroleum Resources announced last Thursday in a statement that the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding for petroleum products transportation and storage.

According to the statement, Niger Republic’s Soraz Refinery in Zinder, some 260km from the Nigerian border, has an installed refining capacity of 20,000 barrels per day.

The move by the Federal Government attracted steaming criticisms with many knocking the government over its inability to keep the country’s refineries running.

But reacting on Monday evening while featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, the petroleum minister said Nigeria is a big market that needs excess fuel products manufactured in other countries.

Sylva said, “I don’t see that as an embarrassment at all. As a country, Nigeria is a big market, we need products, even if all our refineries were functioning, we will still need extra products.

“Niger Republic produces oil and they are landlocked as a country. They have a refinery that produces in excess of what they require as a country and they offered to sell to us in Nigeria because this is a bigger market.

“In the spirit of regional cooperation, regional trade development, we decided to buy from them. I don’t see anything wrong with that. If your neighbour is producing something that is required in your country and you buy from him, why is that a big problem?

“So, we agreed with Niger to buy the excess of what they don’t require in Niger because this is a big market.”

In order to reduce the impact of inflation on Nigerians, the Buhari administration, is, through the 2020 Finance Bill, proposing the exemption of minimum wage earners from Personal Income Tax, according to report reaching Trufem.Club

This is even as the President Muhammadu Buhari administration tried to justify the reduction of import duties on cars, saying the government will buy locally assembled vehicles.

Buhari made these disclosures in his speech delivered virtually by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday at the opening session of the 26th Nigerian Economic Summit Group Conference themed: “Building Partnerships for Resilience”.

And when coupled with other items in the proposed Finance Bill, and various economic policies of the Federal Government, these incentives would ensure the resilience of the Nigerian economy to exogenous shocks, according to the President.

According to the President, “we are proposing in the new Finance Act that those who earn minimum wage should be exempted from paying income tax.

“These provisions which complement the tax breaks given to small businesses last year will not only further stimulate the economy, but are also a fulfilment of promises made to take steps to help reduce the cost of transportation and the impact of inflation on ordinary Nigerians.”

Explaining the role of the private sector in building a resilient economy, President Buhari said “this government has always emphasized that the private sector has a key role to play in our efforts to build a more resilient and competitive economy as expressed in the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan.

It is no longer news that the popular man of God, Israel Oladele has been sentenced to jail on the 19th November 2020 to serve two terms, for defrauding one Mrs Olaide William Oni of the whopping sum of 11 Million Naira in 2011. She accused Pastor Israel Oladele of diverting the money sent to the man of God to get landed properties for her, into another thing.

The pastor’s aide came out to defend him saying he was surprised how the man of God was been accused of defrauding the woman, he said the money sent to the man of God was only an offering to support God’s work and not to help her get landed properties.

Just Three days after pastor Israel Oladele was sentenced to jail to serve for two years, the members of his church has proven they’re not serving God because of a man, there was a massive turnout from people and they attend the church service at his worship centre, as if nothing had happened to their Shepard, which looks so surprising for many. People assumed the jail sentence he got will have a lot of effect on his members and followers, but it happens to be the other way round.

Love is a magical and exciting feeling that combines the sudden rush of hormones and partial deactivation of the brain to make you feel you are literally flying without wings in a fantasy paradise.

This feeling tends to push us to do things that we would ordinarily see as illogical and unacceptable if were not under the influence. Sometimes the hormones are stronger, the brain is on complete shutdown to the extent we do completely crazy things all in the name of love. Let’s check out 9 of those crazy things:

1. Reject A Scholarship Abroad:
Yes, people spend money, apply multiple times, work hard and pray fervently for a scholarship abroad. Suddenly they fall so deeply in love and coincidentally that’s when the long awaited scholarship chooses to come. Guess what they do? Throw it all away for love. Imagine that!

2. Quit Their Job: If there is any other thing strong enough to make you quit your job apart from getting tired of it, it’s love. People meet, vibe, fall in love and begin to feel that their job does not allow them enough time with their boyfriend/girlfriend, so they quit to spend more time with him or her. Except he/she pays you better than the job or you find a better one, that is crazy!

3. Change Base: You think quitting a job for love is crazy? People relocate completely just to be closer to their love and I am not talking husband or wife here, people quit their job, pack their belongings and relocate just to be closer to their crush. Who says hormones are not powerful!

4. Spend All Their Savings On Their Crush ( Including School Fees): This one is almost becoming normal lol. Someone falls in love and begins to feel the irresistible urge to impress their love interest, to the extent they exhaust all their savings and go broke just to do that. Students in the University spend their school feels back to back in a bid to tend to the needs of their boyfriend/girlfriend. If that is not crazy then give it another name? Oh Sorry, love!

5. Sponsor Their Boyfriend/Girlfriend Through School: This one is fast becoming an old story lol. Some people fall in love and start feeling the need to become the father or mother of their love interest. They assume all parental responsibility including sponsoring their crush through university even when they themselves can not boast of a degree. Mostly it ends in tears!

6. Drive At Midnight Just To Go Meet Their Crush: If there is one thing that can make you drive at Midnight apart from getting stuck in traffic, it’s love. For some people, all it takes is getting a call from their crush at midnight claiming distress and boom! They are off, not minding the time. If you run into trouble on the way, what will you tell everyone?

7. Become A Monitoring Spirit: Yes, literally just turning into a privacy spy camera, lol. They stalk their crush on social media and physically, save all the photos in their phones, monitor when they go out and come in, what they do, when, how and why. Some people even go as far as following their Boyfriend/Girlfriend around everywhere and anywhere, Ozo style lol. Once they fall in love with you, personal space and time becomes alien.

8. Getting A Permanent Tattoo: Sometimes love can come so sweet and exciting that people permanently tattoo their Boyfriend or Girlfriend’s name on their body and flaunt it with all pride. This is good and shows your partner just how much they mean to you. However what happens when the love goes sour? You are stuck with your ex’s name on your body. Crazy huh?

9. Turn Against Family And Friends: This happens when one falls in love but his or her family and friends refuse to fall with them. Instead of finding a way to sort things out or at least listen and understand the family/friends side of the argument, they turn against everyone and go off with their partner. When the love fades they come back looking like biblical prodigal son.

Finally I am not saying love is not enough reason to do all of the above however make sure you are doing it for the right love and staying on the safe side because love sometimes can also be deceptive.

The meeting between the Federal Government and the organised labour on the hikes in fuel pump price and the electricity tariff on Sunday ended in disarray as the labour leaders walked out of the parley in anger.

The dialogue, which was meant to take updates on the implementation of resolutions reached during the three previous meetings, ended abruptly barely 10 minutes after it commenced at the Presidential Villa banquet hall, Abuja.

The meeting had started at 8:18 pm when the Trade Union Congress President, Quadri Olaleye, raised the issue of the latest hike in fuel pump price from N160 to N170.

He accused the government of not being truthful, stating that the meeting must record progress otherwise, the labour leaders would walk out of the parley, adding that they were beginning to lose confidence in the government.

The lawyer for some #EndSARS protesters in Lagos State, Mr Adesina Ogunlana, has said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will have to appear before the Judicial Panel of Inquiry probing the alleged killing of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers at the Lekki tollgate on the night of October 20.

Ogunlana said since the military claimed before the panel that their operation on that day was on the invitation of the governor, it would be important for the governor to appear before the panel, particularly to demonstrate his professed belief in the rule of law.

The Commander of 81 Military Intelligence Brigade, Victoria Island, Lagos, Brigadier General Ahmed Taiwo, had during his cross-examination on Saturday said the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, ordered the deployment of soldiers to the tollgate and other parts of the state that day following a request by the governor.

“He (the governor) called the Chief of Army Staff, following which 81 Division, Nigerian Army was ordered into phase four of internal security operation; the call was in the afternoon, before 4pm,” Taiwo told the panel.

Meanwhile, in an interview with one of our correspondents on Friday, the lawyer was asked if the appearance of the governor was important to the case of his clients and whether he would be pushing for the governor’s appearance before the panel.

Ogunlana said, “Of course, that is taken (sic). That person (Sanwo-Olu) will have to come; he’s a factor and he will come. He says he believes in the rule of law, his Attorney General, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN), has come to appear before that panel to just make a short speech and to affirm that the Lagos State Government is indeed committed to unraveling the truth about what happened at Lekki on that day; and the military has mentioned him, so, he is a factor.”

Law Students Association of Nigeria has dragged the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), before the Federal High Court Abuja, challenging what it described as the incessant strikes of the union.

In the suit which was filed at the court on Friday, the association is seeking an order to compel ASUU to return to the classroom as well as an order of perpetual injunction to restrain ASUU from embarking on further strikes.

The suit which was filed by the President of the association, Mr Blessing Agbomhere on behalf of his members is also asking the court to compel ASUU to pay N10 billion compensation to Nigerian students.

This, the association claims is for allegedly infringing on the right of the students to education as guaranteed by Section 18 of the 1999 Constitution and Article 17 of African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights.

The association is further asking the court to order ASUU to pay damages to all Nigerian students for the psychological and emotional torture metted out to them as well as the loss of valuable time following the continuous strike.

Speaking to newsmen, Agbomwere said that the suit was sequel to its findings that ASUU members had been short- changing the Federal Government by teaching in more than one university.

He said it’s investigations also revealed that members of the union were engaging in consultancy services in oil companies and collecting multiple salaries at the detriment of the Nigerian students.

Apart from ASUU, the association also joined Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU President, the Minister for Education, the Minister for Labour and Employment, the Attorney-General of Federation and the Federal Government as 2nd to 6th defendants in the suit.

The association is seeking among other reliefs, a declaration the strike of the union is a breech of the right of members of the association to education.

“A declaration that the indefinite strike embarked upon by the 1st and 2nd defendants since March 2020, leading to the closure of government owned universities, which has detrimentally and negatively impacted on plaintiff’s learning and the smooth operation of academic calendar of universities, is a brazen infraction of the plaintiff’s right to education.

“An order of mandatory injunction compelling the 1st and 2nd defendants to call off the strike and return to the status quo ante bellum whilst negotiation for amicable resolution of the issues in contention or among the defendants is ongoing.

Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed was called out again by CNN in their newsroom program on the morning of today November 20, over threats of sanction.

The American News agency which stated that it is standing by its report on the Lekki toll gate, stressed that Lai Mohammed did not provide any evidence to back his allegation of them being “irresponsible” with their report which he claimed was “one-dimensional and lacking in balance.”

Recall that Mr. Mohammed who also insisted that military only fired empty bullet on protesters at Lekki toll gate, also queried Dj Switch on who she is allegedly fronting for.

You will recall that the Nigerian army and Lagos government refused to comment on their findings, CNN added that their report was based on testimonies from dozens of witnesses, photos geolocated by CNN which according to them painted a picture of how “members of the Nigerian army and the police shot at the crowd, killing at least one person and wounding dozens”

CNN also sais that they verified footage obtained from witnesses and protesters by using time stamp and data from the video files.

Professor Aminu Mohammed Dorayi is a renowned educationist and adventurer that drove from London to Kano with his car.

The elder statesman is a Record-breaker, who broke a world record by driving his Peugeot 504 over a distance of about 4,000miles, in 24 days.

Prof Dorayi is a distinguished Abusite (Ahmadu Bello University) and respected professor of Chemistry. He doubled as a former president of the ABU Students Union Government (SUG) for 1966/1967. Dorayi set up the Sharada Industrial Estate in Kano. He is also the first to organize trade fair in Nigeria.

He is called The Adventurous Chemist because of his passion for adventure. While in the UK, his journey was inspired by several adventure books he had read. Forinstance, he read about the Marcopolos, the Mungo Parks, these adventurous stories fascinated him.

Dorayi, therefore proceded to make a record-breaking trip by driving his Peugeot 504 over a distance of about 4,000miles in 24 days.

According to the elder statesman, “England is an Island. So when you reach Southampton you have to take a boat, you and your car, to Calais, France. I drove through Paris and so on through Madrid, Gibraltar. So when you reach Gibraltar, you reach the Mediterranean Sea, where you also take a ferry to Algeria.

”From there you enter the road all through, though there is no road, in the desert, you’re guided by your compass, your map.”

Speaking further on the trip, Prof disclosed that ”I became very keen during my PhD in the US. I had a Volkswagen which I bought for about 600 dollars at that time. I used it to drive across the desert over there.” He added that he is highly adventurous, that is why even his autobiography is titled, The Adventurous Chemist.

Dorayi disclosed that as he bought the Peugeot 504

for 1000 pounds and hit the road immediately.

He said, ”I was assisted by the British Automobile Association (AA). They gave me the guidelines, the map, the route. They told me what to do in crossing the desert, and what not to do. So, I was quite prepared.

Speaking of his preparedness, Doriya said, ”Since I went to secondary technical school, I was technically inclined and I could service my car. I came from a technical background. Going back to Zango in Kano and hanging out with friends, they taught me confidence.

So this thing has been in me for years. I enjoyed reading about trans-Sahara.

In his encounter, Doriya noted that ”There was a place I passed in Algeria, and the day I arrived, it was raining heavily. Little children of 13 years and below were running helter-skelter and crying. When I asked the elders why they said those children had never seen rain before. No rain for 14 years, so they thought heaven was falling. They had to be counselled by their elders.”

The Upper Area Court, Kubwa, Abuja, on Thursday, ordered the immediate arrest of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, son of Nigeria’s former Vice-President, for disobeying an October 27, 2020 judgment directing him to hand his three sons to their mother, Maryam Sherif, for custody.

Sherif had commenced the children-custody suit after the divorce between her and her former husband, Abubakar, who bears the same first name and surname with his father, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.

The judge, Bashir Danmaisule, delivered judgment in favour of Sherif on October 27, 2020.

But her lawyer, Nasir Saidu, returned the court complaining that Abubakar had failed to comply with the judgment.

Saidu had urged the court to issue a judgment-debtor summons for the defendant to appear in court to explain why he did not obey the court’s order and why he should not be jailed for disobeying the court judgment.

Both Abubakar and his lawyer, Abdullahi Hassan, were absent in court on Thursday, although the court bailiff said the defendant was served with the summons through the Nigeria Customs Service, where he works, on November 3, 2020.

Relying on the claim of the bailiff, Saidu urged the court to issue an arrest warrant against the defendant.

He urged the court to order that Abubakar be arrested and kept in jail pending when he obeys the court judgment.

He recalled that the defendant had consistently and flagrantly disobeyed the order of the court to bring the children at every court sitting in the course of the hearing of the case.

The judge, Danmaisule, in acceding to the judgment-creditor’s lawyer, noted that the judgment-debtor (Abubakar) appeared to have refused to appear in the court despite being served with the hearing notice.

Citing Section 26 of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Area Courts (Repeal and Enactment) Act 2010, issued an order “for the immediate arrest of the judgment-debtor”.

FG signs fuel transportation, storage deal with Niger Republic

…To evacuate excess petrol from Niger to Nigeria

The Federal Government, yesterday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Republic of Niger for the transportation and storage of petroleum products.

In a statement in Abuja, Group General Manager/Special Adviser on Media to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Garba Deen Muhammad, said the MoU was reached following bilateral agreements between President Muhammadu Buhari and President Mahamadou Issoufou of Niger.

According to Muhammad, talks had been on-going between the two countries for over four months – through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Niger Republic’s National Oil Company, Societe Nigerienne De Petrole (SONIDEP), on petroleum products transportation and storage.

He explained that Niger Republics Soraz Refinery in Zinder, some 260 kilometres from the Nigerian border, has an installed refining capacity of 20,000 barrels per day, the country’s total domestic requirement is about 5,000 barrels per day, BPD, thus leaving a huge surplus of about 15,000 bpd, mostly for export.

Muhammad stated that the MoU was signed by the GMD NNPC, Mallam Mele Kyari and the Director-General of SONIDEP, Mr. Alio Toune under the supervision of the two countries’ Ministers of State for Petroleum, Çhief Timipre Sylva and Mr Foumakoye Gado, respectively with the Secretary-General of the African Petroleum Producers Organisation (APPO), Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim in attendance.

Speaking shortly after the MoU signing, Sylva expressed delight over the development, describing it as another huge step in developing trade relations between both countries.

He said: “This is a major step forward. The Niger Republic has some excess products which need to be evacuated. Nigeria has the market for these products. Therefore, this is going to be a win-win relationship for both countries. My hope is that this is going to be the beginning of deepening trade relations between Niger Republic and Nigeria.”

Lai Mohammed, minister of information, says the federal government has no plan to shut down social media in the country.

Mohammed said this on Thursday during a press conference on the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests.

The minister said the spread of fake news through social media catalysed the outbreak of violence across the country.

He said despite the negative effect social media had on the outcome of the protests, the government nursed no plan to shut it down.

Sunday Dare, minister of youth, had said the government had the option of shutting down social media during the #EndSARS protests but chose not to do so because it is “committed to the rights of every citizen”.

Mohammed earlier warned that if left unregulated, social media would destroy the country.

Many Nigerians have kicked against the planned regulation of social media.

A bill to effect the regulation has already scaled second reading at the senate.

But Mohammed said the government will go ahead to regulate social media.

“Keen watchers of the developments cannot fail to notice the role played by the social media in the EndSARS protest. As a veritable tool for mass mobilization, the organizers of the protest of course leveraged heavily on social media for that purpose. But on the other hand, the same social media was used to spread fake news and disinformation that catalyzed the violence that was witnessed across the country,” he said.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has denied reports that it has suspended the indefinite strike action, IgbereTV reports.

This denial comes after a statement started making the rounds online with the subject, “Notice of suspension of ASUU indefinite strike action of all member universities across Nigeria.”

ASUU shared a screenshot of the statement on Twitter and called it:

“fake news”.

It added that,

“The Federal Government has said it will resume meeting with the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Friday.

“The Ministry of Labour and Employment disclosed this on Wednesday night.”

The statement from ASUU continues:

“The parley is expected to address various pending issues, including the contentious payment platform preferred by the union.”

Nigerians on social media on Wednesday dragged the Federal government and Nigeria Broadcasting Commission after CNN released its findings from an independent investigation carried out on the October 20 shooting incident at the Lekki tollgate.

Footage released by CNN showed that soldiers shot at the End SARS protesters who had gathered at the tollgate to press home their demands to end SARS as well as police brutality.

CNN also tracked the bullets shells seen at the scene of the massacre which showed that they were purchased by the Federal government from Serbia in 2005.

The global cable network in its investigation spoke with a man, Elisha Sunday, whose brother, Victor, was killed during the October 20th shooting incident amid Federal Government’s claims of ”No casualties.”

Following the development, Nigerians took to social media to drag the Buhari led government over their inability to fully sanction the culprits behind the massacre.

While some applauded the international media house for carrying out a detailed investigation of the incident and making revelations, others mocked the Federal Government and the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission saying they have no powers to sanction CNN over its detailed investigation.

The reactions gathered by DAILY POST from socail media were mostly against the Nigerian government.

@Neferitti,” NBC slammed N3m on ARISE TV, for showing that same #LekkiMassaccre video, CNN has now analyzed. CNN confirmed the live rounds fired at peaceful protesters at End SARS Lekki Tollgate, were purchased from Serbia. Remember the Army claimed they only fired blank bullets in the air.”

@Ayothefirst,” The CNN documentary of the #LekkiMassaccre will make you angry at the government and Nigerian Army all over again. We expect them to dispute this and label it fake news as usual. Don’t forget anything the government labels “fake news” is the undiluted truth.”

1. Let me first clarify that I never sought for PDP presidential ticket and so, whosoever is saying that I moved to APC because they refused to zone the ticket to me is being very mischievous.

2. Some people said I was promised this and that – there was no such discussion. APC never promised me any position, they never promised southeast any position. This decision is my protest against the injustice being done to southeast by PDP.

3. Let it be known that I’m God’s project and I do not go beyond my calling. I Am satisfied being a governor and by the grace of God, for 8years. Nothing will stop me from this protest.

4. I believe that this movement will cause PDP to understand that no man is an Island and no single person can be called a crowd. Together we are stronger.

5. People can write all they want to write, it is not my business. In 2023, if God permits, I may be quitting politics and I will be very satisfied because the miracles in Ebonyi state may just be the reason I was born.

6. One thing I promise is that I will never castigate PDP, just like, in PDP, my only sin is that I refuse to castigate Mr. President.

7. I came from a very well known family; a place where there is character. If you want to deal with a man, you have to find out about the family background. People jump into politics and covering their character.

8. Nobody in PDP or APC will say he has ever discussed anything and I have to go and leak it, to leak it for what? Is it for money? Is it for fame?

9. Let it be known to all that nobody promised me anything. Let it be known to all that I move because of injustice, and I have no regret about that. I am satisfied being a businessman, I am satisfied doing my businesses. That is all. Thank you all.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu, has reaffirmed that he’s in control of the police.

Adamu said he’s in charge of the activities and modus operandi of the police force.

The IGP made the assertion in response to an accusation by a retired Army General, Garba Wahab that he’s not in control of the Force.

He stated this in a statement signed by the Spokesman, DCP Frank Mba, on Tuesday.

He insisted that the retired General spoke out of ignorance.

According to the statement: “The attention of the Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to comments and reactions during an interview session on Channels TV Sunrise Daily program of 13th November, 2020 where one Major General Garba Wahab (rtd) commented that “…rather than improving the improvement (sic) …the IGP is sitting down there with all the paraphernalia of office deprived of actually having control of police… he is not in control”.

“The Force wishes to categorically state that the Rtd Major General is wrong in his assertion as IGP Adamu is firmly in control of the administration and operation of the Nigeria Police Force. It notes that the comments by Rtd Major General Garba Wahab shows that he spoke purely out of ignorance and from a jackboot mentality that lacks proper understanding of democratic policing culture, rooted in the Rule of Law. It reiterates that the retired Officer actually run commentaries on a subject outside his areas of core competence.

New lease of life for Dahiru Buba, Dukku man who trekked from Gombe to Abuja for Buhari, as Governor Inuwa Yahaya doles out car, 2 million Naira cash to ardent APC loyalist

It is now a new lease of life for Dahiru Buba, the 50-year old native of Dukku Local Government who trekked from Gombe to Abuja in celebration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in 2015 and now suffering from limb ailment, as Gombe state Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya today in Abuja presented a Ford Galaxy ( sharon) Car and sum of two million Naira to the diehard APC supporter.

It will be recalled that the media was recently awash with the story of Dahiru Buba calling on the Government and public spirited individuals to come to his aid after he developed limb complications from a solidarity trek he undertook to celebrate the first term victory of the President.

The Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya had earlier directed that Dahiru Buba be taken to the Government House clinic for diagnosis from where he was later referred to a private orthopedic hospital where he was thoroughy examined and placed on medication.

Buba, a commercial driver met with Governor Inuwa Yahaya at the Gombe Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.

He was accompanied by the member representing Dukku North Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Abdulkarim and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Matters, Hon. Hamma- Adama Dottuwa Ali Kumo as well as other Assembly members and stalwarts.

Governor Yahaya while presenting the gifts said,
“For taking the pains and risks to show solidarity with Mr. President and our great party, people like Buba should not be neglected.

” By embarking on that solidarity trek, Dahiru Buba had shown patriotism and support, he should therefore be appreciated and encouraged”.

“So on learning about his condition, first I directed that he should be taken to the hospital for proper medical attention and I am happy that he is now better after undergoing his first round of treatment “.

Secondly we are now capping it up with a support that we hope can sustain him. Since he is a Driver, we are giving him this Ford Galaxy Sharon so he can use it as commercial transport vehicle to sustain his livelihood. We are also giving him the sum of 2 million Naira cash to enable him purchase a house within his locality since I learnt he is a tenant. So as far as we are concerned in APC and in this administration, no genuine effort or sacrifice will go unrewarded no matter how long it takes”.

” So on behalf of our dear President and our beloved party, we say a big thank you for your show of support and solidarity”.

In his response, Malam Dahiru Buba, who was visibly emotional, expressed appreciation to Mr. President and Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for recognising him and coming to his aid.

He said even with his earlier challenges after he returned from his 15 day journey, his spirit had never been dampened in his love for the President and his party.

Buba promised to use the vehicle and the money judiciously, saying the gesture truly motivated and spurred him as a loyal party man and as a breadwinner of his family.

Resignation letters from hundreds of officers in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests have allegedly been rejected by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

Senior officers confided in The Guardian that hundreds of policemen were ready to leave after their humiliation and burning of stations.

“There is no amount of talk that will assuage the anger of policemen. We are very angry. Many of my colleagues tendered their resignation, but they are not accepting it. The morale is terribly low. Our officers were dehumanised. Some were killed. Many of us don’t have offices anymore. Nigerians should ask us to go if they don’t need police anymore. Are we not also Nigerians? Why should we be treated like animals?” an officer fumed.

IGP Adamu had vowed to arrest perpetrators in Lagos with a view to restoring pride of the force.

According to him, 1,590 suspects have been arrested nationwide for arson and looting.

He spoke while addressing hundreds of personnel of Lagos State Police Command in GRA, Ikeja last week.

He had urged them not to be deterred by action of the hoodlums in the discharge of their duties.

Adamu implored the cops to resume work with open minds.

It was the IGP’s first visit after the nationwide demonstrations.

Lagos was epicentre of the #EndSARS protest which later degenerated into violence that claimed numerous private and public assets.

Six officers were lynched, 36 critically injured and 46 police stations burnt in the nation’s economic capital.

The police boss said he observed that the morale of officers had dampened in the light of the violence.

Adamu said the scale of destruction witnessed during the event called for adoption of standard protocols for public protests.

He visited some of the assets torched in the former federal capital city, including the palace of Oba of Lagos.

Despite various calls by Nigerians both online and offline that the Organised Labour should react to the recent increment in Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) popularly known as petrol, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and its Trade Union Congress (TUC) counterpart have kept silent.

The increment came barely after 72 hours oil workers under the aegis of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) declared indefinite strike over issues related to Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) and other sundry issues.

Daily Trust had on Saturday reported that Nigerians are still groaning following the federal government’s decision to raise the pump price from N160 to N170, with many calling out labour leaders to take actions.

The federal government is currently processing a $750 million loan from the World Bank for state governments to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic among the populace.

The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, disclosed this at the inauguration of the committee on Nigeria Covid-19 Action Recovery for Economic Stimulus (N-CARES), in Abuja, yesterday.

She said that the administration was determined to assuage the impacts of the COVID-19 on low-income earners who form the bulk of the Nigerian population.

“This key population make up over 60% of our entire population in Nigeria therefore, the need to cushion the effects of the pandemic on the vulnerable sectors through the provision of palliatives and stimulus package.

“As part of windows of opportunity to mitigate the effect of Covid-19, the Federal Government is in the process of accessing a World Bank loan of $750 million on behalf of the states to stimulate the local economy and support vulnerable household’s consumption.”

Can’t afford civil unrest
Mrs. Ahmed said that the administration would take every necessary step to ensure that the nation’s economy did not remain in recession because of its consequences.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to reverse the increase in the pump price of fuel which increased from N159 to N170 per liter.

The party in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, on Friday in Abuja, said the hike in fuel price is too much and describing it as unbearable to Nigerians.

Ologbondiyan said it was also unacceptable given the prevailing economic crunch already confronting Nigerians.

He said that the PDP insisted that the increase in the pump price would worsen the already “suffocating economic” situation in the country.

He added that such a hike would be an additional log tied on the economic neck of Nigerians.

Ologbondiyan said that the government had no justification to increase the cost of fuel to anything above N100 per liter, let alone N170.

He said that there was no such justification when there were practical options to maintain affordable prices given Nigeria’s production capacity and potentialities.

The Petroleum Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, has increased the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, to N155.17 per litre from N147.67 per litre.

The PPMC disclosed this in an internal memo with reference number PPMC/C/MK/003, dated November 11, 2020, and signed by Tijjani Ali.

The memo, a copy of which was seen by our correspondent, said the new ex-depot price would take effect from Friday.

The ex-depot price is the price at which the product is sold by the PPMC to marketers at the depots.

In its PMS price proposal for November, the PPMC put the landing cost of petrol at N128.89 per litre, up from N119.77 per litre in September/October.

It said the estimated minimum pump price of the product would increase to N161.36 per litre from N153.86 per litre.

The National Operation Controller, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, Mr Mike Osatuyi, in a telephone interview with our correspondent, said the over N7 increase in ex-depot price would translate into an increase in pump prices.

He said, “The implication of the increase in the ex-depot price is that there is going to be an increase in the pump price. We are expecting the pump price to range from N168 to N170 per litre.

“Crude oil price is going up,” he said, noting that the Federal Government has fully deregulated petrol prices.

Following the deregulation of petrol prices in September, marketers across the country adjusted their pump prices to between N158 and N162 per litre to reflect the increase in global oil prices.

Petrol price band had also risen from N121.50–N123.50 per litre in June to N140.80-N143.80 in July and N148-N150 in August.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, said in September that the government had stepped back in fixing the price of petrol, adding that market forces and crude oil price would continue to determine the cost of the product.

The very first thing is to Avoid Excessive Drinking Of Alcohol

Recently Some researchers have discovered a connection between the H. pylori bacteria that most often causes anulcer and excessive alcoholconsumption. This theory is that alcoholin large quantities irritates the stomach lining, causing a condition called gastritis.

Regardless of the details, one fact remains: Alcohol abuse can contribute to a painful sore in the stomach. Whether or not drinking is causing a person’s ulcer, science has concluded that drinking doesn’t help an ulcer heal. In fact, drinking when one has an ulcer can actually make the condition worse.

Avoid Too Much Smoking Of Tobacco And Cigarette

Excessive Tobacco smoking is a well known risk factor for uncomplicated peptic ulcer. 15-17 Smokers have an increased risk for dying from pepticulcerdisease4 and increased death rates from smoking-related disorders have been reported in patients with ulcerbleeding.

Moreover, Excessive Smoking increases the risk of ulcers and may hinder the drugs you’re taking to heal your ulcer.

I wonder if you Have ever ordered a meal for the sake of its name, and not because you actually know what it is? Perhaps, yes, perhaps no. This Nigerian lady obviously knows what Spaghetti Bolognese is and ordered it in a Nigerian restaurant.

What they served her, however, beats the imagination…

She took to Twitter to call out the restaurant for serving her the ‘Nigerian version’ of Spaghetti Bolognese, an Italian dish.

Since we are dragging Nigerian restaurants today please why was I given this as spaghetti bolognese??

A Lagos State High Court at Tafawa Balewa Square presided by Hon. Justice Ogunjobi on 12th November 2020 has ruled in favour of fitness entrepreneur Maje Ayida over defamation lawsuit against Toke Makinwa.

The court in its judgment held that after careful consideration of the evidence before the court, it finds only the contents of page 54 line 11-16 and page 83, Line 1 of the 1st defendants’ book as Defamatory.

The Court thereafter granted damages of the sum of 500,000 Naira each to be paid by the 1st and 2nd defendants to any charity organization of the claimant’s choice. The court also granted an injunction preventing the defendants from producing copies of its book with the defamatory words in pages 54 and 83.

The court also gave the defendant 30 days from its judgment to delete and remove said defamatory words from unsold copies of the book in the defendant’s custody.

Recall that in 2017, an exclusive report that surfaced online said Ayida’s lawyers had written a ‘letter of demand’ to Makinwa asking her to stop the adverts and sale of the memoir titled On Becoming.

Maje’s lawsuit also stated that the book which contained defamatory words, was misleading and had subjected him to public ridicule. Ayida, in the letter, asked Makinwa, among other things, to withdraw the book from circulation, recall all copies distributed and hand them over to him for destruction.

The letter also said a failure by the media personality to take back the words said in the book, and give a full-page apologizing to Maje Ayida in three national newspapers will lead to the beginning of legal action.

The Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, says his administration has no plan to stop pensions of past governors and their deputies.

Okowa, who stated this on Wednesday in Asaba, stressed that his counterpart in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, may have reasons to repeal theirs.

He said, “There is an existing law in Delta State on what accrued to the governors and their deputies, that I don’t want to touch.

We are not thinking in that direction, my counterpart in Lagos may have reasons why he wants the law repealed but we in Delta don’t want to go into that.

“I don’t want to comment on the decision of Lagos State Governor. Each state has the power to make a decision concerning its governance.”

On the approval given to Zamfara State Government to manage their resources by the Federal government, Okowa said the South-South governors will meet with Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to President, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (retd), to address the issue.

MINISTER of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige on Wednesday said the Federal Government was addressing the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, holistically to ensure that all other unions in the university system were carried along.

The Minister said this while defending the budget of his Ministry before the Senate Committee on Labour and Employment.

Reacting to the concerns expressed by the senators on the prolonged ASUU strike, Senator Ngige told the committee that the Federal Government has met most of the demands of the union.

According to him, “Out of the eight demands of ASUU, the government has solved five. We have made N50 billion available. A total sum of N20 billion for the revitalisation of the universities and N30 billion for Earned Academic Allowances (EAA).

“The union agreed and went back to their members, only to return and say that the money for EAA should be for ASUU members alone, excluding other unions, namely, SSANU, NASU, and NAAT.”

Three weeks after Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), gave a directive on the withdrawal of police orderlies attached to VIPs — politicians, business leaders and entertainers, our findings revealed that the order has largely been ignored.

Rather than release the policemen at their disposal back to the police authorities so as to complement the existing personnel in securing the populace, our correspondent gathered that many VIPs and politicians have added more police personnel due to the recent attacks by hoodlums in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests.

During Sunday’s meeting in Lagos between South-West governors and traditional rulers to proffer solution to the destruction in the region by hoodlums, many policemen were seen escorting dignitaries invited to the event, despite the fact that the IGP was also in attendance at the meeting.

Speaking with our correspondent, a senior police officer in Lagos who spoke on condition of anonymity, said many of the police personnel attached to the VIPs “also don’t want to leave due to the extra pay they receive to augment their salaries”.

He also added that some of the policemen he has spoken to said they find it difficult to resume at police stations now because of the massive damages done to the buildings by the hoodlums which are yet to be renovated.

“It is a difficult thing. One, the situation in the country is still tensed. We are yet to see the end of the #EndSARS crisis. That is why you haven’t seen many policemen on the streets. Also, many of these VIPs are still living in fear and demanding improved security.

An Economic and Financial Crimes Commission investigating officer, Adariko Michael, on Tuesday, alleged that N2.2 billion was spent on prayers in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia to win the war against Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria.

Mr Michael was giving evidence as the first prosecution witness (PW1) in the trial of Sambo Dasuki, former National Security Adviser (ONSA) to President Goodluck Jonathan, in the alleged two billion dollars arms deal fraud.

Others charged with Mr Dasuki, a retired colonel, are a former General Manager with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Aminu Baba-kusa, Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited.

The International election experts invited by the Trump administration to observe the U.S. election last week issued a preliminary report that that there is no evidence of the alleged widespread fraud as implied by President Donald Trump.

The State Department invited a 28-member delegation from the Organization of American States, which has reported on elections around the world, to observe the voting in the U.S. on November 3.

The Members of the OAS team were sent to battleground states such as Michigan and Georgia, where the Trump campaign has filed lawsuits alleging voter fraud, and noted in the report that it had “not directly observed any serious irregularities that call into question the results so far.”

THE Senate said that it is not aware of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Freezing the bank accounts of some leaders of the #EndSARS protesters.

The Nigerian government has allowed Dangote Cement to resume exports across its land borders, raising hopes that Africa’s most populous nation may be opening up trade with neighbors after a year-long blockade.

President Muhammadu Buhari‘s administration gave its authorization for Africa’s biggest producer to export cement to Niger and Togo in the third quarter for the first time in ten months, Michel Puchercos, chief executive officer, said on an investor call in Lagos. The export was made possible “through authorization given by this administration,” he said.

The exemption to Dangote Cement is seen as a softening of the government’s position on a border closure that started in August last year, and could open the way for other bushinesses to fully resume exports across the country’s land barriers.

Nigerian authorities closed borders with neighboring countries including Benin and Niger to curb smuggling and boost local production. Although the blockade encouraged the consumption of locally grown produce such as rice, it hurt factories across West Africa, which rely on Nigeria’s market of 200 million people.

Dangote resumed land export with “restricted volumes,” and plans to grow the trade using the sea channels, according to Puchercos.

Today has been majorly about Laycon’s Birthday. He has received the most pleasant birthday gift ever in his life.

There is nobody that could have ever predicted that Laycon would become a two luxurious cars’ owner within the period of two months. See pictures of the luxurious cars:

Laycon was so excited today when he got to the party. He was just planning to thank his fans for all the gifts and souvenirs that they brought for him; little did he know that those gifts were nothing compared to what they have in store for him. Shortly, they took him outside and showed him this gold-plated luxurious Benz. He was in awe for few minutes as he could not get hold of himself. He was just looking and he could not say anything. Suddenly, he bowed his head to appreciate the love of his fans and the support. He relaxed on the Benz and he was so happy.

Zamfara Governor Secures Release Of 26 Young Girls Kidnapped By Bandits In Katsina State (Photo)

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has said that dialogue with bandits is still relevant just as he secured the release of 26 Katsina girls from bandits, IgbereTV reports.

A statement issued on Sunday, November 8, by Zailani Bappa, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Enlightenment, Media and Communications, said the girls, aged between 8 and 12, were released to the Zamfara State Government without payment of ransom.

“The girls who were kidnapped by bandits in Faskari local government area of Katsina state were brought into the bushes of Zamfara state but were miraculously discovered by the state Government and got released through negotiations held under the state Commissioner Of Police and the state Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs who are in constant dialogue on behalf of the Government with bandits in the state on the need to embrace peace and live a normal life,” the statement said.

Governor Matawalle, who received the rescued girls said his administration will not abandon the peace dialogue with bandits as fire power alone cannot solve the problem of banditry in the state.

“This is a testimony to our vision for engaging the bandits in peace dialogue. For those who believe we are wrong to dialogue with the bandits, the securing of these minors who are all girls, unhurt, is indeed, priceless.” he said.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador says it is too early to congratulate Joe Biden, president-elect of the United States.

After securing more than the 270 required votes to win the presidency, leading American media organisations projected Biden as the next US president.

But President Donald Trump, who has refused to concede the election, filed multiple lawsuits to challenge Biden’s victory.

Speaking with reporters on Saturday, Obrador said he would wait for “all legal issues” in the US presidential election to be resolved before congratulating the winner.

“We don’t want to be imprudent. We don’t want to act lightly and we want to respect people’s self-determination and rights,” Obrador said.

“We have a very good relationship with the two candidates. President Trump has been very respectful with us and we have reached very good agreements, and we thank him because he has not interfered and has respected us. And the same goes for Biden.”

Canadian leader Justin Trudeau; Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin; Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari are among the world leaders who have congratulated Biden.

Joe Biden to become the 46th president of the United States, CNN projects

(CNN)America has chosen Democrat Joe Biden as its 46th president, CNN projects, turning to a veteran voice who has projected calm and compassion, promised a more empathetic and scientific approach to the pandemic, and pledged to stabilize American politics after four years of Donald Trump’s White House chaos.

Biden, who turns 78 at the end of this month, will become the oldest president when he is inaugurated in January in the midst of the worst public health crisis in 100 years, the deepest economic slump since the 1930s and a national reckoning on racism and police brutality that is still unresolved.

His election will end Trump’s tumultuous hold on Washington and condemn the Republican, who has had a lifelong obsession with winning, to the ranks of chief executives who lost after a single term.

In a cinematic twist, it was Biden’s boyhood state of Pennsylvania that put him over the 270 electoral vote threshold and delivered the White House. Trump had held a wide lead over Biden on the night of the election, but as election officials counted hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots, the race shifted dramatically in Biden’s favor, infuriating Trump and his allies, who knew the President’s path to the White House was over without the commonwealth.

That the Keystone State was the last hurdle in Biden’s path to the White House was a fitting end to a hard-fought race given that the former vice president has long cultivated his image as “middle-class Joe” from Scranton. In a visit that now seems almost prophetic, he had made a final trip to his childhood home in the city on Election Day after spending much of the campaign promising to prioritize the livelihoods of the many working-class voters whom Hillary Clinton lost to Trump in her 2016 bid.

On one of the living room walls in the house where he grew up, he wrote: “From this House to the White House with the Grace of God,” signing his name and the date,”11.3.2020.”

In the final days of the race, Biden’s team redoubled their efforts to rebuild the Democrats’ “blue wall” — and that gambit paid off with Biden winning Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, according to CNN projections, while holding Minnesota, which the President made a priority in his reelection push.

As he watched his hopes of reelection being strangled with each tranche of votes in Pennsylvania, Trump lashed out on Twitter during the tense vote count, attempting to undermine democratic institutions with demands like “STOP THE COUNT.”

The agency responded to the incident at 0105hrs this morning according to the State emergency response plan. The joint team (agency + @LAG_FireService) was waylaid on arrival by a group of miscreants brandishing weapons and was forced to seek extra police cover from the Isheri Police Station.

The operation commenced with the police protection until the group of assailants grew larger and caused significant damage to vehicles and threats to life of our personnel.

The team was forced to suspend the Recovery operation for safety reasons. It is of note that this attack is part of a very worrisome trend of first responders being attacked in the course of their duties. Lagosians are urged to refrain from endangering the lives of emergency responders.

The @followlasg has urged all Lagosians to shun any act that may threaten the peace of our dear state, which is battling to recover from the shock of the carnage unleashed by hoodlums who hid under the #EndSARS protests.

Even as we are still counting our painful losses in lives and property, there are hints of a new protest. The police have warned that no protest will be tolerated.

Any protest under any guise will be disrespectful to the memory of those who died in the violence and unfair to ordinary Lagosians, who have remained peaceful, despite the hardship that the original protests sparked.

It is clear that the original protests, despite their good intentions, have caused more havoc than they were planned to resolve.

The Government hereby appeals to our patriotic youths to shelve any plan for a protest and join the practical efforts to find a solution to the problems that have been thrown up by the actions taken in recent weeks.

Parents and guardians are enjoined to keep their children/wards at home; they should not be used as tools of destruction by enemies of our society.

About Lekki shootings: The Nigerian Army makes a change of decision to appear before Lagos panel Saturday

The Nigerian Army, contrary to its decision last week, will appear on Saturday before the Lagos State Panel of Inquiry probing the alleged shooting of #EndSARS peaceful protesters by soldiers on October 20 at the Lekki tollgate.
Sources close to the retired Justice Doris Okuwobi-led panel confirmed this on Thursday that the army had acknowledged the panel’s invitation and the panel had fixed Saturday (November 7) for its appearance at the hearing taking place at the Lagos Court of Arbitration, Lekki.
Recall that for two weeks last month, youths calling for the disbanding of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police protested across the country.
In Lagos, the protests assumed a tragic dimension when soldiers shot protesters at the Lekki tollgate.
The shootings have attracted local and international condemnations with Amnesty International saying that no fewer than 12 people were killed.

The Federal Executive Council has given approval for the collection of $104.2m and $20m loans from two international financial institutions for the development of water projects in Nigeria.

Spokesperson for the ministry, Kenechukwu Offie, who said this in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, said the loans would be deployed to the projects to ensure adequate water supply.

Donald Trump Jr. on Thursday fired off a tweet calling for his dad to wage “total war over the election” — while parroting the same allegations of voter fraud that his father has used to explain away his dwindling hopes of staying in the White House.
Twitter quickly hid the message from view for spreading false information about the election.
Trump Jr., who has a long history of using Twitter to fuel conspiracy theories, hit the send button amid a flurry of lawsuits filed by his father’s campaign to turn the election — including one in Pennsylvania that sought to stop vote counting.
“The best thing for America’s future is for @realDonaldTrump to go to total war over this election to expose all of the fraud, cheating, dead/no longer in state voters, that has been going on for far too long,” Trump Jr. wrote, repeating several conspiracy theories about the election and seemingly calling for Americans to go to war with one another.
“It’s time to clean up this mess & stop looking like a banana republic!” he added.
Twitter flagged the tweet minutes after it was posted for violating its “Civic integrity policy.”

The Governor who is armed with the belief that the cost of governance can be reduced if unnecessary expenses are cut, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has revealed that neither he nor anyone in his cabinet had purchase personal or official vehicles with taxpayers’ money since they assumed office.
He made this revelation on Thursday, in his address at the 22nd Annual Tax Conference, on the theme ‘Taxation and Economic Competitiveness: Imperatives for National Development’.
While harping on the need to reduce the cost of governance, Sanwo-Olu said: “We need to look at the expenditure of our state.
“As the Chief Executive of our state, I ask myself where can I cut the excesses from?
“What can I do away with in order to increase the revenue of our state, and make available a lot of money for my state for them to do well?”
Sawo-Olu added: “So what have I done, and this is the first time I will be saying this publicly, I have not purchased a single official vehicle for myself or any of my direct staff, or any of my family members since I became the governor.

Democrat Joe Biden inched nearer to victory on Thursday over Donald Trump in an exceedingly close U.S. election that hinged on razor-thin margins in a handful of states, while the Republican president launched a flurry of lawsuits hoping to slow down his opponent.
Tensions rose in some places as the ballot counting dragged on two days after polls closed, with a second day of sometimes dueling street demonstrations over the integrity of the election.
Biden, the former U.S. vice president, was continuing to cut into Trump’s leads in Pennsylvania and Georgia while holding on to slim margins in Nevada and Arizona.
Trump, who during the long and rancorous campaign attacked the integrity of the U.S. voting system, has again alleged voting fraud without providing evidence, filed lawsuits and called for at least one state recount.
The latest move by Trump’s campaign was a lawsuit to be announced later alleging voting fraud in Nevada, another of the crucial states where he narrowly trails Biden.

ASUU Meeting with FG not conclusive again as the demands of the group has not been met by federal government.

“Again, another cardinal issue is the University Transperancy and Accountability Solution (UTAS) versus IPPIS. Today ASUU submitted their document on UTAS for onward submission to National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). As you know last week, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy had approved that NITDA gets their system (UTAS) and subject it to integrity test. This test should be conducted without fear or favour and as early as possible. So today they have submitted the document for onward transmission to NITDA.”
Chris Ngige said the transition period and how to disburse the Earned Academic Allowances and other entitlements remained unresolved as ASUU wanted an exemption from IPPIS whereas the government side headed by the Accountant General of the Federation insisted on IPPIS, being the only government approved payment platform.
He said, “So that is where were are for now. So we are all going back to our principals and they will receive via me the irreducible minimum of what federal government has to offer.

The government side will meet on Friday and after that they will communicate ASUU and in communicating them, if there is a need for a meeting, a date will be fixed for it.

Donald Trump is now the favourite to win the US election as results roll in across America on the most unpredictable election night in American history.

In what could be a bigger shock than Mr Trump’s sensational victory in 2016, the president is edging to victory after winning the key swing states of Florida and Ohio. But important states like Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia are still to be called – and counters in the vital swing state of Pennsylvania have gone home for the night, meaning the full result may not be known for hours.

Joe Biden has addressed supporters, telling them “it ain’t over until every vote is counted”, while Mr Trump accused the Democrats of “trying to steal the election” in a tweet almost immediately labelled as “misleading” by Twitter.

We have live coverage across the US with our team of reporters inside the Trump and Biden campaigns and on the ground in key states such as Florida, Pennsylvania, California, Arizona and Texas.

The long awaited U.S presidential election is already here, as voting has already started today already in the whole country. As we all know that, when two people contest for an election, no matter their campaigns or achievements, it is only one person, that will eventually win the election. It is either the incumbent wins another four years, for a second term, or the opponent replaces him.

The U.S presidential election is between Joseph Biden, who was the Vice President of the United States of America between 2009 to 2017, and Donald Trump who is the current President of the country. Both of them have numerous, and outstanding success in their tenures. Before the debate, they have campaigned and both are hoping for a win today.

T.B Joshua who is the founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations, is a pastor that always say a lot of prophecies. His controversial prophecies, do spark a lot of reactions from people. From the prediction of Micheal Jackson’s death, and the winners of two African Cup of Nations final matches, he has shown that some of his prophecies are true.

Based on the U.S presidential election, he stated that that there would be a new president in U.S.He stated that Donald Trump, has destroyed his opportunities for a second tenure, due to his mouth. The pastor even quoted Proverbs 6:2, and Proverbs 18:21.The first Bible verse is referring to the mouth, while the second one, is actually talking about the power of the tongue. From what he said, that means Joseph Biden will win.

The Judicial Panel of Inquiry probing the alleged shootings of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers on October 20, 2020 at the Lekki tollgate in Lagos has declined the request by the operators of the tollgate, Lekki Concession Company, to “take back possession” of the tollgate.
The Chairman of the panel, retired Justice Doris Okuwobi, in a short ruling on Tuesday, said the tollgate plaza would remain closed.
The judge said the panel might have a need to pay another visit to the tollgate plaza after watching the video footage from a surveillance camera submitted by the LCC on Tuesday.
Counsel for LCC, Rotimi Seriki, had urged the panel to allow the firm “take possession” of the tollgate plaza to evaluate the level of damage for the purpose insurance claims.

Reinforcing Omomuwa’s request, LCC lawyer, Seriki, said, “My humble request is that if the tribunal doesn’t have further need to visit the plaza, the LCC should be permitted to take back possession of the toll plaza for the purpose of evaluation of the damage and commence the process of carrying out necessary repairs.”
But ruling, Justice Okuwobi said the panel agreed that it was necessary for LCC to go and evaluate the level of damage “but we will not grant that access yet. The need may arise for the panel to revisit.”

The Nigerian Army says it will not disclose the identities of its men who were sent to Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020.
Soldiers had dispersed #EndSARS protesters who prevented vehicular movement along that axis for two weeks.
The incident had triggered different reactions, within and outside the country, as the military and the federal government were accused of human rights abuse.
While there are reports that many persons were killed by soldiers, only one case has been confirmed so far.
In an interview with PUNCH, Osoba Olaniyi, spokesman of the 81 division of the Nigerian Army, said it is unprofessional for the army to name the soldiers who were in action on that day.
“It is against operational security. We don’t give that. It is against the policy of operational security. There is no problem here. The picture some people paint, as if we are fighting with the state government, is wrong,” the newspaper quoted him to have said.
The army had initially denied being responsible for the incident.
In separate tweets, the army had labelled the reports on soldiers opening fire at the tollgate as fake news.
But last week, Olaniyi confirmed that soldiers were the ones who carried out the operation.
He had said the Lagos state government invited the army to restore order after widespread violence.
“At no time did soldiers of the Nigerian Army open fire on any civilian. From the onset of the ENDSARS protest, there was no time personnel of 81 Division Nigerian Army Lagos were involved,” he had said in a statement.
“However, the decision to call in the military was taken by the Lagos State Government (LASG) after a 24- hour curfew was imposed.
“This was as a result of the violence which led to several police stations being burnt, policemen killed, suspects in police custody released and weapons carted away. The situation was fast degenerating into anarchy. It was at this point that LASG requested for the military to intervene in order to restore normalcy.
“The intervention of the military followed all laid down procedures for Internal Security operations and all the soldiers involved acted within the confines of the Rules of Engagement (ROE) for Internal Security operations.”
